Spring 2009 Summer Hours: We've had a superb spring here in the Willamette Valley and things are green and beautiful. We are operating under our "summer" hours, which means we are open on the weekends (Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and during the week by appointment only. Our first calf of the season was born 25-May-2009. Her name is "Catherine", named after our Canadian exchange student (both are pictured right). If you look close you can see the resemblance: they are both cute as a button! We have a freezer full of elk meat. Steaks, roasts, ground, etc. We've added a new product: pre-formed elk burger patties. These are quarter-pound, 100% pure elk (nothing added) burger patties. We've grilled some up on our Traeger and they are delicious! We have pepperoni and summer sausage too. A little about us...Rosse Posse Acres is the realization of Alan & Brenda Ross' dream come true. We are a 52-acre working elk ranch with approximately 70 head of elk. Besides the elk, we have a small petting zoo with pygmy goats, miniature donkeys, a miniature horse, turkeys, Patagonian cavy, Wallaby, and chickens; kids especially love the "Tucker" the Wallaby because he is so cute. The "Rosse Posse" (pronounced ross-ee poss-ee) was a nickname given to our family by one of our friends. We are a family of 6, so I guess we seemed like a posse to her. Anyhow, the name kind of stuck, so we just went with it. Our last name is actually "Ross", but that didn't rhyme with "posse" too well. Check us out on MySpace! How to get in touch with us...
